PERSONALITY
The murder of his parents drove Bruce Wayne to become a symbol of vengeance and justice. And for most of his life, his mission as Batman was his sole focus. This was not a kind life - not to him nor his allies but Bruce refused to give it up, until he was no longer physically able to do so. This obsession with crime fighting cost him dearly in the end. It kept him from having a family and children of his own. It drove away his found family and after Alfred died, there was no one left. No Justice League. No Dick or Tim or Barbara. He's isolated and lonely, with only his dog for company. But his inability to express his emotions on a more personal level and his pride keeps him from mending any of the bridges he's burned. He still carries a measure of guilt over what happened to Tim Drake, his second Robin. He forbade Tim to be Robin again and did not have another partner after. Their relationship never truly recovered and it drove Tim away eventually. Bruce simply accepted it and returned to working alone, just as he'd done in his early years. Terry brings back much of the fire Bruce had when he was a young man. The two often clash, however, as Terry is a teenager and a very different Batman than Bruce was and they are both completely stubborn. Bruce feels like he is the authority and has a hard time deferring to Terry's judgement. It doesn't help that he's often right. He doesn't berate Terry when he's wrong though. Bruce just uses the opportunity to teach him something valuable that can be used later. Despite his age, Bruce's mind is still as sharp as ever. He is the world's greatest detective and he puts that vast wealth of knowledge and experience to use in his training of Terry and helping him to solve his cases. After a life of tragedy, it's little wonder Bruce Wayne became a bitter recluse in his old age. But thanks to a young man giving Batman life again, that's changed for him. For the better.
SKILLS/ABILITIES
Bruce is an ordinary human with no magical or metahuman abilities. His age and a heart condition prevents him from doing anything too rigorous. But he still has a genius level intellect. He is well studied and has an analytical mind. He is also a master at intimidation and manipulation, especially of the criminal element. While he's not able to fight like he once did, he is still able to defend himself using his cane as a weapon. He is also multilingual knowing at least Morse Code, Kaznian, Japanese, and Spanish.
